I couldn't imagine anyone could sing that beautiful ballad better than Conway, now I believe. RIP Possum.

I was in college when this song came out. I saw this very performance on TV late one night. I was alone and I had a nice buzz on. His performance of this song moved me so much. I was spellbound by the soulfulness of his voice. I fancied myself as a rocker/Grateful Dead guy at the time. But I went straight out the next day and bought this CD and a Greatest Hits CD. This performance instantly made me a huge GJ fan and I loved exploring the rest of his catalogue. There are so many greats in country music. But if we're just talking voice, he is the GOAT. Hands down. I still love his music today and I miss him as well.
